Supporting Communities Through Donations

Building on years of service, Volunteer Sri Lanka conducts nationwide drives to collect used clothes, laptops, smartphones, books, and shoes. These items are distributed to Children’s Homes, rural communities, and underprivileged families in cities including Hatton, Siyambalanduwa, and beyond.

What may seem like a simple donation becomes a lifeline—helping children continue their education, keeping families warm, and empowering adults with access to essential tools and technology. With the tireless support of our volunteers and generous donors, these projects continue to transform lives and strengthen communities.

Championing Literacy: The ‘Books that Keep on Giving’ Campaign 📖

Volunteer Sri Lanka is also proud to have played a key role in the award-winning ‘Books that Keep on Giving’ campaign, which earned two Effie Gold Awards. Through this initiative, we established and managed nationwide collection points, making it easy for individuals, schools, and businesses to donate used notebooks.

Thanks to this extensive volunteer network, thousands of notebooks were collected and upcycled to support visually impaired students in every school across Sri Lanka, restoring their fundamental right to education and creating life-changing opportunities.
